Blackmagic Design just announced yesterday fantastic Pocket Camera 6K BMPCC6K with EF mount and Super 35mm Sensor! If you ask me, I have no clue how other companies will compete to that! At only $2500 you get essentially a camera that shoots higher resolution than Arri Alexa with very similar image quality! Yet again the team of Blackmagic Design managed to revolutionize filmmaking industry by giving regular Joe ability to compete against Hollywood big shot budgets!

In this video example, I am going to show you Film LUT in action. BMPCC4k and BMPCC6k versions have identical sensors and color science, so Film LUT works equality great on both version of the pocket camera!

Since Blackmagic Cameras are known for their chroma noise level, I highly recommend using chroma noise reduction before applying the Film LUT. It will ensure that you working with the highest quality footage! BMPCC4k and BMPCC6k Film LUT will be available starting this Saturday! Below are grading examples using Film LUT. Sample BRAW Footage was downloaded from the Blackmagic Design Website

And just like it’s older brother, Film LUT can easily be adjusted in the first node. Adjusting the white balance and basic exposure in the node structure before the LUT ensures most accurate colors. If you like to get deeper shadows, you can use LOG wheels after the LUT to drop the shadows even further.
